Background to FRIA

FRIA formed as a result of two industry forums in February
and August 2004

Focus is to provide a unified focal point for development
of the farmed rabbit industry

Inaugural Board elected by industry in August 2004
-
Board members provide representation across the various
facets of the industry and across Australia
FRIA Vision
To increase the supply of farmed rabbit meat to meet customer
needs.
FRIA Mission
Develop the growth and demand for wholesome rabbit meat and
products with a sound economic future.
FRIA’s focus
The FRIA formation meetings agreed that FRIA’s objectives
should include (in no order of priority):

Development of industry strategy

Government lobbying
-
Information provision
-
Standards development
-
Industry marketing
-
Research and development
-
Collation of industry statistics
The strategic plan has been developed to address these.

This plan has been developed by the Board to highlight and
communicate FRIA’s priorities for action over the next two years.

It is anticipated that the Plan will continue to develop as
new issues and priorities are identified.

The Board will communicate to members the detail of the
plan and progress against specific action items via the Website and
newsletter.
